On Sunday April 22nd 2018, the 1st Senior (Citizen) Prom benefit will take place in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This is an opportunity to feel special, have a good time with friends, and get dressed up — suit and tie or tuxedo, gown or tea-length dress, or splendid Aloha wear — the choice is yours! In the ambiance of yesteryear, independent seniors attending the prom get pin-on corsages and boutonnieres, reserved seating, full-course gourmet dinner, musical favorites with Rewind 74 Band, Life Tunes DJ, recording artist Reid Soria, Eve Hale ukulele player, and “at your beck and call” dance partners (thanks to Choctawhatchee High School students, including JR ROTC Cadets). Advance ticket holders also receive a take-home caricature with artist Mark Douglass. Purchase advance tickets for $45.00 each.
Prom attendees will gain a tender inter-generational perspective through senior and student works of art. Creative mediums from oil to watercolor paintings and charcoal to pencil sketch will be offered for bid at the silent auction. Together, we will indirectly honor families who courageously face memory loss and its profound impact upon them. Proceeds of The Senior Prom will directly benefit the “neighborhood memory cafes” operated by Hope Matters in Fort Walton Beach, Destin, and Crestview. This event will give active senior citizens – and some high school students – the opportunity to bless those seniors who attend our memory cafes. Join us at WaterVue at 203 Brooks Street SE, Fort Walton Beach, Florida on April 22nd 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
